Grand Stage and Illusion Show
The curtain opens and the lights fade up to reveal a 7’ metal, cube-like, chamber sitting on a raised platform, at center stage. Two stage technicians enter and rotate the frame. They push it to the front edge of the stage. The audience can see beneath it, above it, and on all sides of the chamber. A curtain drops to cover the box. The music continues and seconds later we hear “Ladies and gentlemen… your magician for this evening – introducing Ray Brown,” the curtain drops and Ray appears inside the big metal enclosure that was empty just seconds before.
This is Ray Brown’s Grand Stage and Illusion Show and it is just getting started. Over the course of the next full hour, the audience will experience breathtaking magic and illusions. Ray and his “magic crew” will involve the audience in an interactive experience. They will see some of Ray’s classic routines, as well as his favorite full-stage illusions. There are also some bits of comedy along the way. Everyone will laugh as an audience members $100 bill vanishes. We are relieved seconds later when it is found inside of a lemon. Ray will also present his award-winning tribute to Harry Houdini (“A Legend Remembered,”) which features a straightjacket escape. It is a show for the entire family. It may also feature an intermission to reset the stage for the second half of the show.
The show is full of audience participation, including many opportunities for selected members of the audience to help onstage, and plenty of chances for everyone to interact with the show from their seat.
This show can be performed in theaters and performing arts centers, most high school auditoriums, and is perfect for private and corporate events with a larger attendance. Ray also offers this show as a fundraiser for some groups, and anyone looking to host a great show!
Due to the nature of the performance, a stage is required to present this show. The number of illusions performed will depend on the amount of backstage space available. This production can be customized to fit into smaller venues.
