1. How far in advance should I book a show?
As soon as you decide that you would like to host one of Ray’s shows at your event – that’s the perfect time to book it. Dates do fill quickly, especially during in the summer, Halloween, and near the Holiday season. Call now to avoid disappointment.
2. Which show should I choose?
That depends entirely upon what type of event you are having. Whether you are planning a child’s birthday party or a large corporate event, Ray offers a unique and customized show that would be a perfect fit. Give us a call or email so we can learn more about your specific event and help you choose the perfect show.
3. What are your rates?
There are many different elements that determine the cost of a show. While we do publish some generalized prices here on this website, there are other circumstances that could change the price, higher or lower.
4. Do you require a deposit?
In most cases, yes – a deposit is required to officially book and confirm any performance. The deposit can be made by Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. A lot of the booking process is handled online, so you can take care of the deposit instantly online once availability is confirmed. Depending on the specific details of your event, a deposit may not be required, however we’ll let you know all of the details when we get in touch.
5. Do we need to provide a table or anything for the show?
No. Ray provides everything that is needed for the show. You just have to provide the space for the performance and the audience. For larger shows, Ray travels with a sound system that can be used if the venue doesn’t have one in place. PA systems and house sound systems are generally non-acceptable, so Ray always has his own system as a backup to ensure the best quality. Ray also travels with a smaller sound system for when he is performing at smaller events such as children’s birthday parties and such.
6. How much space is needed for your show?
Most of the shows can be performed in a fairly small amount of space, however the more space the better. Ray’s children’s show can be performed in a living room and doesn’t require much space at all. The Parlor Show is a little more spread out and can be performed in an 8’x8′ area. The Grand Stage and Illusion show does require a stage that is about 24’x16′. Don’t worry too much about space – when there’s Ray there’s a way… we’ll make it happen.
7. How far do you travel?
The prices of Ray’s shows do not include travel expenses for shows greater than two hours from the New Orleans area. New Orleans and Baton Rouge are the two major cities closest to Ray’s central location, which is why travel to, and through, these areas is free. Ray does receive booking for larger show (mainly repeat former customers) in other states, and travel arrangements can always be made.
8. Do you perform outdoors?
If the weather is adequate, then yes – Ray can perform outdoors. However, it is HIGHLY recommended that all shows be presented INDOORS. Louisiana weather can change at any moment, and there are always unique distractions outside. You’re paying for a unique show experience, so to get the most out of it, and to create the best performing atmosphere, it is always best to have the show inside.
9. Do you work with entertainment agents?
We allow entertainment agents to bring our shows to events that they are planning. However, none of our services are offered as “agent-exclusive.” We also offer “Agent-Friendly” promotional materials and websites for our agents and event planners.
10. Are your shows appropriate for all ages?
Yes! All of the material in Ray’s shows is appropriate for family audiences. While there is some situational comedy along the way, nothing is inappropriate and your satisfaction is guaranteed. But at the same time, the comedy in Ray’s adults shows is completely different than his children shows.
11. What’s different about you than any other magician out there?
Ray is one of the youngest entertainers out there. The personality of an entertainer is something that makes any performer unique. Ray is full of youthful energy and is dedicated to providing you with the best customer service, and an amazing show. He also guarantees your satisfaction with every show.
